Add a driver to your policy

This section will help you to tell us all we need to know in order to ADD A DRIVER to your policy.

NOTE: G1 licensed drivers do not need to be added to a policy. They are automatically covered but they must operate the car according to the restrictions imposed on G1 drivers by the provincial legislation. All other regular drivers must be declared.

Here is how you can add a driver to your policy...

When you go to the next screen, you will be asked:

  • a few questions so we can locate your policy information,
  • about the new driver including the driver's licence number,
  • if this new driver has been insured in the past and if so, we will need the policy details,
  • if this new driver has had any tickets or accidents, and
  • which car the new driver will use.

Have this information ready before you proceed.

Once you have submitted your request to us, you will receive immediate confirmation by E-mail that your request has been received.

If the new driver has successfully passed a drivers education course, please fax the certificate to us at 1-416-907-5597. Make certain you have added your name and your policy number to the fax so we can accurately locate your policy information.

In a few weeks, your insurer will send you the following documents by regular mail:

  • an endorsement confirming that they have made the requested change
  • an invoice or new monthly payment schedule if there is a change in premium
