Code of Conduct

  1. We shall discharge our duties to our clients, members of the public, other insurance brokers and insurers with integrity.
  2. We owe a duty to our clients to be competent to perform the services which we undertake on their behalf.
  3. We shall serve our client in a conscientious, diligent and efficient manner.
  4. We shall be both candid and honest when advising our clients.
  5. We shall hold in strict confidence all information acquired in the course of the professional relationship concerning the business and affairs of our clients, and we shall not divulge any such information unless we are authorized by our client to do so, or are required by law to do so, or must do so in conducting negotiations with underwriters or insurers on behalf of our client.
  6. We shall observe all relevant rules and laws regarding the preservation and safekeeping of property of our clients entrusted to us and, when there are no such rules or law, we will take the same care of such property as a careful and prudent person would take of his/her own property of like description.
  7. We shall not stipulate, charge or accept any fee that is not fully disclosed, or the basis for which is not fully disclosed prior to the service being rendered, or which is so disproportionate to the service provided as to be unconscionable.
  8. We shall encourage public respect for and try to improve the practice of our vocation.
  9. We shall make our services available to the public in an efficient and convenient manner which will command respect and confidence and by means of which is compatiable with integrity, independence and effectiveness of our vocation.
  10. We shall assist in maintaining the integrity of our vocation.
  11. We shall assist in preventing the unauthorized practice of our vocation.
  12. Our conduct towards other brokers, members of the public, and insurers shall be characterized by courtesy and good faith.
