Car Insurance Brokers of Canada Inc. (CarInsurance.ca) was formed in 1999 specifically to market car insurance over the Internet. In 2007, we expanded our online capabilities so that we could offer instant quoting for home insurance as well as car insurance.
CarInsurance.ca is an Insurance Broker licensed in all provinces other than Quebec and Newfoundland (where our license application is pending).
As an insurance broker we are working for you, our client. We are NOT employees of any insurance company.
CarInsurance.ca is associated with D. M. Edwards Insurance Group Limited which is an established insurance broker whose origins date back to 1945.
We believe in top quality service. We review every renewal. At renewal time, we will offer a change in insurer if there is a reasonable price saving to you. We will make specific recommendations if we think you are missing an important coverage. We will tell you if we think you can save money by making a change that does not compromise the goal of good, solid coverage.
We only represent major insurance companies. When we arrange your insurance, the insurer we use will be licensed to issue insurance in the province that you live in.
Car Insurance Brokers of Canada Inc. can trace its roots back to 1945 when Mr. Alfred Silk joined three other insurance brokers to form a partnership. That partnership continued for almost 30 years when, in 1974, Mr. Silk sold his business to Mr. Gerry McGowan who established Silk -McGowan & Associates Insurance Brokers Limited.
In 1989 Mr. McGowan sold the firm to Mr. Denison M. Edwards and the firm became Silk, McGowan & Edwards Insurance Brokers Ltd. In 1998 Don Valley Insurance Brokers Inc. was purchased and the name of the firm was changed again to D. M. Edwards Insurance Group Limited or simply Edwards Insurance Group.
Car Insurance Brokers of Canada Inc. was formed in 1999 by Mr. Edwards with a mandate to sell and service car insurance over the Internet. Car Insurance Brokers of Canada operates from the same office as Edwards Insurance Group.
D. M. Edwards Insurance Group Limited is licensed and registered insurance brokers in accordance with the Insurance Brokers of Ontario Act. Car Insurance Brokers of Canada Inc. is an insurance broker licensed in all provinces other than Quebec and Newfoundland (where our license application is pending).
